Master Gardener classes offered monthly

Free Master Gardener classes through the University of Minnesota Extension Crow Wing County Master Gardeners will take place at the Brainerd Public Library from January to December. Monthly presentations are held at noon and are facilitated by certified UMN Extension Crow Wing County Master Gardeners.

“Create the Beauty, Month By Month” presented by Master Gardener Coralee Fox will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 14. This class provides practical tips for handling all of those extra tasks which are necessary, though mundane, to produce healthy, vibrant flowers, both annuals and perennials. Pre-register by calling the Brainerd Public Library at 218-829-5574.

• Feb. 11: Extending the growing season in Minnesota.

• March 11: Gardening tools.

• April 8: Landscaping for wildlife.

• May 13: Growing great vegetables.

• June 10: Water wisely: recommended practices.

• July 8: The moon garden.

• Aug. 12: Colorful pots all season long.

• Sept. 9: Daylilies: The perfect perennials.

• Oct. 14: Growing and using gourds.

• Nov. 18: Indoor gardening: houseplants.

• Dec. 9: Holiday pizzazz: Using plants in your décor.
