Brainerd debate team places high in section tournament
The Brainerd High School Debate Team competed at the Minnesota State High School League Section Tournament this weekend.
Miriam Pritschet was named section champion and Jordan Kleist took second place. There were about 35 students competing at the Blaine event.
The schools competing in the Lincoln-Douglas part were from Forest Lake, Anoka, Roseville, Blaine and Brainerd. The Brainerd team also qualified one public forum team, Rachel Dallman and Amanda Bently. The schools represented were Forest Lake, Anoka, Roseville, Blaine, Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton, St. Francis, St. Michael-Albertville, Minneapolis South and Brainerd.
The Brainerd debate team also took first and second place at the national qualifying tournament.
Next for the Brainerd group is the Minnesota High School League State Tournament.
