Brainerd man injured when vehicle crashes

An 87-year-old Brainerd man was injured Wednesday when he lost control of his vehicle, ran into the ditch and collided with a sign at the intersection of Wise and Beaver Dam Roads, reported the Brainerd Police Department.

Brainerd firefighters were called to extricate the man, Leo Tautges, out of the vehicle, which was partially overturned. There were no other passengers in the vehicle.

Tautges was alert and oriented at the time of the crash. He was transported by North Memorial Ambulance to Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center where he was treated and then released.

The crash was reported at 5:56 p.m.
