Dog rescued in vehicle crash

Man’s best friend was rescued Monday morning, when the Golden Retriever’s owner was involved in a one-vehicle crash on Highway 18 and Three Mile Road, southeast of Brainerd, reported the Brainerd Fire Department.

The dog was not in a kennel when traveling in the truck, when the truck rolled over into the ditch on its side at the intersection. It was reported that the dog was trapped between the side back window of the truck and the ground.

Firefighters and the towing company were able to free the dog. The dog, who was breathing and walking after the incident, was taken to the veterinarian by its owner. The name of the owner was not known.
