Drug trafficking investigation leads to Cass County arrests
A joint investigation into the trafficking of narcotics in the northern portion of Cass County resulted in arrests and confiscation of methamphetamine and cash.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office, in a joint operation with the Leech Lake Tribal Police Department, Headwaters Safe Trails Task Force, Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force and Lakes Area Drug Investigative Division, conducted a joint investigation into the trafficking of narcotics in the northern portion of Cass County.
Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch reported as a result of that investigation, a search warrant was issued and executed resulting in an arrest and the confiscation of a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and more than $8,000 in cash.
The sheriff’s department reported Gary E. Keezer, 41, and Randolph L. Headbird, were arrested and arraigned in Cass County Court Friday. Formal charges are pending for a third man, age 23.
Burch said the investigation is continuing. He credits the operation’s success to the cooperation of several area law enforcement agencies.
