Floor Hockey: Warriors tie in opener

ANDOVER — Despite outshooting Anoka-Hennepin 31-12, the Brainerd Warriors and the Mustangs played to a scoreless overtime tie in the season opener for both teams Wednesday.

The Warriors outshot A-H 6-0 in overtime but were unable to convert in the North Division game.

“We played a good game and had several opportunities to score, especially in the overtime period, but could not get anything to go in,” Warriors coach Todd Person said. “We had one goal that was disallowed due to offsides.

“Harlee Annable made several big saves, especially in the second period, and he looked really good in his first game of the year. Our new players did well and it was an exciting game to kick off the season with.”
