Boppre, Rohr gain appointments to WSN board
Greg Boppre and Kent Rohr were appointed to the Widseth Smith Nolting (WSN) Board of Directors.
Boppre joined WSN in 2012 through the merger of WSN with FS Engineering and is the office manager for WSN’s East Grand Forks and Grand Forks offices. He has more than 30 years of experience in the surveying and engineering fields. His responsibilities include the design and preparation of plans and specifications, construction administration, and the supervision of designers, inspectors, and surveyors on a variety of projects. Project types include site improvements, water distribution systems, water treatment plants, sanitary sewage collection systems, storm water collection systems, paving projects, major road reconstructions and other municipal projects.
In addition, Boppre serves as the state aid engineer for the city of East Grand Forks and has secured funding and completed numerous state and federal aid projects for the community.
Rohr joined WSN in 1992 and serves as the director of WSN’s structural engineering department. Rohr’s responsibilities include working with the project architect and engineers to incorporate a safe and economical building structural system into the architect’s vision of the overall project. He has worked with a variety of systems including timber, masonry, steel, precast and reinforced concrete with building sizes ranging from $100,000 to over $40 million in construction cost.
Rohr has also been involved in the design of nearly 250 bridges with WSN, including PPC beam, continuous slab, and composite steel girder design. He is the project manager for all of WSN’s current bridge projects as well as some of the firm’s building projects.
