Computer classes planned at library

Free basic computer classes offered

The Brainerd Public Library‘s free basic computer classes in February are now available for registration. For those who are new to computers, haven’t used them for a while, are a little unsure and uncomfortable, or just need a bit of a refresher, we have the tools to help tackle technology. There is limited seating; call 218-829-5574 to register.

Classes include: Basic Computer, 10 a.m. to noon, Feb. 7 and Feb. 14 and from 1-3 p.m. Feb. 21; Windows 8, 1-3 p.m. Feb. 7 and 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 20; Intro to Excel, 6-8 p.m. Feb. 13 and 1-3 p.m. Feb. 25; Intro to Word, 1-3 p.m. Feb. 14 and 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 25; Basic Internet, 1-3 p.m. Feb. 20; and Basic Email, 10 a.m. to noon, Feb. 21.

Computer classes will be taught by Rob Norgon, a retired Business Education instructor, who has 42 years of training experience. He has varied training experiences from the high school computer lab to adult computer education through Brainerd and Pequot Lakes Community Education programs.

In addition to a master’s degree in business education he has earned certification as a Microsoft Office 2003-2007 Specialist Master Instructor, a Microsoft Certified Trainer, and a Microsoft Applications Specialist. I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.
