Lakes Jam returns to the lakes area

Lakes Jam is returning for its second year on June 26-28 with more bands and an extra day of music located at Brainerd

International Raceway (BIR).

Fifteen bands, including national artists Bret Michaels, Gretchen Wilson, Uncle Kracker, Starship Featuring Mickey Thomas, Bucky Covington, Maggie Rose and repeat crowd favorites ThundHerStruck and Chris Hawkey of Rocket Club. Other bands will also perform.

Each year the line-up will feature both rock and country bands.

Concert tickets and camping are available online now at or by phone at 800-514-3849. Lakes Jam is offering early bird pricing that expires Friday, Feb. 14. Early bird pricing will be weekend passes at $70; VIP tickets at $150; and camping wristbands at $25. Single day passes will be $60 and will become available for sale on Feb. 15.

This year camping has been expanded to include full service and reserved sites. Campers can arrive at 8 a.m. June 26. The concert arena opens at 3 p.m. June 26; 10 a.m. on June 27; and 10 a.m. on June 28.

“Our first year was such a success, that we’ve expanded the festival from two days to three days, and will feature 15 bands,” said Jerry and Annastasia Braam, owners of Lakes Jam. “Whether you love country music or rock and roll, Lakes Jam has something for everyone. It is the party in the Brainerd lakes area.”

The line-up:

June 26: Secondary stage: 6 p.m., Electric Almighty; 8 p.m., 32 Below; and 10 p.m., Chris Hawkey.

June 27 (country night): Secondary stage: 12 p.m., Roadhouse 6; 2 p.m., Jeremiah James Korfe; Last Call, Korfe. On the main stage: 4 p.m., Chris Hawkey; 6 p.m., Bucky Covington; 8 p.m., Maggie Rose; 10 p.m., Gretchen Wilson.

June 28 (rock night): Secondary stage: 12 p.m., King’s Ransom; 2 p.m., Madd Company. Last Call, Captain May I. On the main stage: 4 p.m., ThundHerStruck; 6 p.m., Starship Featuring Mickey Thomas; 8 p.m., Uncle Kracker; 10 p.m., Bret Michaels.
