Baxter City Council approves Woida Road parking restrictions

BAXTER — Baxter City Council members approved parking restrictions on Woida Road, banning parking from Inglewood Drive to Highway 371.

The parking ban comes as the city is planning to improve Woida Road and will be using Municipal State Aid Funds for the road work. The plans for Woida Road do not call for a width required for a Municipal State Aid project so it will need to be posted for no parking at any time.

The council also met in a work session before the meeting to look at options to handle storm water from the Woida Road project.

In other business, the council:

Accepted a $500 donation from the Baxter Lions Club for the 2014 children’s triathlon.

Heard the county is planning to mill and overlay County Road 48 with all costs taken care of by the county. As the resurfacing will take place within Baxter’s city limits, the county sought the city’s consent. It was granted.

Met in a closed session to develop an offer to purchase property.

Adjourned to a informational council meeting on capital improvements set 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13.
