Thesing, Schulte join United Way board
United Way of Crow Wing and Southern Cass Counties announced the addition of Kevin Thesing and Joe
Schulte to its board of directors.
Both men have been active community members and bring a wealth of professional and philanthropic experience to the board.
Born and raised in the Brainerd lakes area, Thesing is co-owner and manager of Lakes Printing in Brainerd. During the years, Thesing has served more than 14 area nonprofit organizations. He was awarded the Brainerd Lakes Area Community Foundation’s 2012 Award in Philanthropy and stated he looks forward to expanding his role with the United Way of Crow Wing and Southern Cass Counties.
As a business and loan developer with Region Five Development Commission (R5DC), Schulte has administration experience with a 27-year record of success overseeing all phases of multimillion-dollar retail and service organizations, according to the United Way news release. His command of business protocols and relationship building aids in developing and negotiating strategies. Schulte serves as staff for the nonprofit subsidiary of R5DC — The North Central Economic Development Association, and is charged with overseeing several multi-county federally funded revolving loan funds with capital assets totaling more than $7.4 million.
Board President Tim Houle stated, “We are thrilled to welcome Kevin and Joe to our board of directors. They are both well known as tireless advocates for this community. Our mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of our community and there is no doubt these two are very well-equipped to help us do just that.”
United Way of Crow Wing and Southern Cass Counties reports it focuses on education, income and health — the building blocks for a good quality of life — and currently provides funding to 31 local programs working with community members in these focus areas.
