Kids prom on March 1 to benefit 7-year-old Crosby boy

A Kids Prom will be conducted in the afternoon on Saturday, March 1, at the Crosby Elementary School gym as a fundraiser for Curtis Lee Hiltbrunner V.

Hiltbrunner, 7, is a three-organ transplant recipient who is experiencing rejection and other medical issues.

Family members said his odds of surviving his first year of life were very low. A spokesperson for the family said although they remain optimistic for his future, they are realistic about his medical condition. The prom will be from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, March 1, for all children ages 5-13. Several area businesses are donating services, such as photography, tuxedo and limousine.

The money raised pays for Hiltbrunner’s ongoing medical needs and expenses to travel to Pittsburgh to the transplant center. Hiltbrunner needs to go there again within the next month.
