Pequot Lakes woman injured in crash

NISSWA — An 81-year-old Pequot Lakes woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash reported at 10:09 a.m. Friday on Crow Wing County Road 18 and Highway 371 in Nisswa, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.

Irma Zimmerman was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for unknown injuries. Information on her conditions was unavailable Friday afternoon.

Zimmerman was driving a Ford Fusion southbound on Highway 371 and Eugene Patch, 89, Nisswa, was driving a Jeep westbound on County Road 18 when the vehicles met at the intersection and hit broadside.

The state patrol reported that it was not known if Patch or his passenger, Judith Patch, 64, Nisswa, or Zimmerman’s passenger, June Carlson, 86, Nisswa, were injured, as they were still investigating.

The Nisswa Police Department assisted the state patrol at the scene.

The state patrol responded to multiple calls Friday morning because of the icy roads. A school bus went into the ditch at 8:43 a.m. on Highway 371, south of Brainerd. There were five students on the bus, none were injured. Another bus arrived and took the students to school.
