Crow Wing County Dairy Ambassador and Princess Banquet is March 22
PIERZ — The Crow Wing County Dairy Princess Banquet is scheduled for March 22 at the Pierz Ballroom. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. with a program, coronation and dance to follow. Advanced tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children under 12 and are available from any candidate or by calling 828-1998 before March 16. Tickets at the door will be $15. Dairy ambassador candidates include: Anna Young, Alyson Koering, Raychel Raddatz, Grace Studniski, Kaitlyn Kelm, Kirsten Schroer, Anthony Hettver and Levi Raddatz.
Young, 17, daughter of Randy and Delores Young of rural Brainerd, is in 11th grade at Pierz Healy High. She is a member of the FFA and enjoys 4-wheeling, hunting and snowboarding. Her favorite dairy product is ice cream. Her sponsors are Woitalla Repair Service, Midwest Machinery Company and Crow Wing County Farm Bureau.
Koering, 17, daughter of Gerald and Melissa Koering of Ft. Ripley. Alyson is in 11th grade at Brainerd High School. She plays the clarinet and is a member of Brainerd FFA. Her favorite dairy products are milk and ice cream. Alyson’s sponsors are Pioneer Lake Mutual Insurance and Wally Thesing Tours.
Raddatz, 17, daughter of Lindsey and Melissa Raddatz of Brainerd, is in 11th grade at Brainerd High School. She participates in band, choir, high school bowling, FFA and 4-H. Raychel’s favorite dairy product is chocolate milk. Her sponsors are CentraSota, Farmers and Merchants State Bank and Al Olson Express, LLC.
Grace Studniski, 14, daughter of Rick and Gretchen Studniski, Fort Ripley, is in 8th grade and is home-schooled. Grace is in 4-H and participates in the Dairy Knowledge Bowl. Her favorite dairy product is ice cream. Grace’s sponsors are AgStar Financial Service and Tri-County Livestock. Kaitlyn Kelm, 16, daughter of Mark and Michelle Kelm, of rural Brainerd, is in 10th grade at Pierz Healy High. Kaitlyn is a member of the Art Club and FFA. Her favorite dairy product is milk. Kaitlyn’s sponsors are Culver’s of Baxter and Crow Wing Power. Kirstin Schroer, 13, daughter of Richard and Susan Schroer of Brainerd. Kirstin is in 8th grade at Forestview Middle School. She is involved in 4-H, Girl Scouts, and church youth group. Her favorite dairy products are cheese and ice cream. Kirstin’s sponsors are Mid-MN Federal Credit Union and Pierz Fab.
Anthony Hettver, 18, is the son of Tony and Cheryl Hettver of Brainerd. He is a senior at Brainerd High School and a 4-H member. His favorite dairy product is milk. Anthony’s sponsors are Athman Dairy and Modern Farm Equipment. Levi Raddatz, 15, is the son of Lindsey and Melissa Raddatz of rural Brainerd. He is involved in high school bowling, 4-H, and FFA. Levi’s favorite dairy product is ice cream and his sponsors are Jerome Marshik and Green Lantern.
Veronica Nelson is the only candidate for Crow Wing County Dairy Princess. Her coronation at this event qualifies her to compete for one of the 12 Princess Kay of the Milky Way finalists that will be selected in May. Each finalist will have her likeness carved in butter at the Minnesota State Fair. One will be chosen to wear the crown of Princess Kay of the Milky Way and become the statewide spokesperson for the dairy industry. Nelson, 17, is the daughter of Ron and Barb Nelson, of rural Brainerd. She is a senior at Brainerd High School and takes classes at Central Lakes College in Brainerd. Veronica is involved in FFA and 4-H. She is employed at Jerry and Sandy Foust’s dairy farm. Her favorite dairy product is milk. Veronica’s sponsors are AMPI, Pierz Coop and Long Prairie Packing.
The dairy princess and ambassadors promote the dairy industry and agriculture by visiting elementary classrooms and nursing homes, helping at the county fair and with farm tours, participating in parades, and educating their friends of the benefits of dairy products.
