2 men arrested for stealing snowmobile

Two Brainerd men, ages 25 and 54, were arrested for stealing a snowmobile, which the owner didn’t know was gone.

In the early morning hours of Wednesday, a deputy pulled over a pickup occupied by two males who were acting suspicious, according to the Crow Wing County Sheriff Department.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that a snowmobile in the back of the pickup had been stolen earlier in the week from a seasonal cabin on South Black Bear Road in Crosby. The owner of the snowmobile had not been to his cabin for several weeks and did not realize his snowmobile was stolen, the sheriff department said.

The two men were arrested for theft of a motor vehicle. The sheriff department is seeking additional suspects in connection with this theft.
