The following recently were sentenced in Crow Wing District Court:

Jason M. Benton, 38, Long Prairie, was sentenced by Judge David Ten Eyck to one year in Crow Wing County Jail, with sentence stayed for three years for gross misdemeanor driving while intoxicated (DWI).

Geoffrey H. Lytle, 25, New York, was sentenced by Ten Eyck to 90 days in county jail, with sentence stayed for two years, for misdemeanor DWI.

Lawrence Butler Johnson, 44, Brainerd, was sentenced by Ten Eyck to 180 days in county jail for fifth-degree drug possession.

Benjamin W. Sullivan, 33, address unknown, was sentenced by Ten Eyck to one year in county jail, with sentence stayed for two years, for gross misdemeanor of giving a false name to a peace officer.

Todd M. Evans, 37, Brainerd, was sentenced by Ten Eyck to five years of supervised probation for fifth-degree drug possession. Successful completion of probation will result in a misdemeanor conviction.

Laura L. Sumner, 33, Redby was sentenced by Ten Eyck to 17 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Shakopee, with sentence stayed for five years, for fifth-degree drug possession.

Joseph P. Russo, 24, was sentenced by Ten Eyck to five years of supervised probation for fifth-degree drug possession. Successful completion of probation will result in a misdemeanor conviction.

Sarah Ann Nelson, 27, Brainerd, was sentenced by Ten Eyck to five years of supervised probation for violating the conditions of her release on a second-degree burglary charge.

James H. Nelson, 72, Deerwood, was sentenced by Ten Eyck to 90 days in county jail, with sentence stayed for two years, for misdemeanor DWI.

Eric C. Disterhaupt, 28, Brainerd, was sentenced by Ten Eyck to one year in county jail for gross misdemeanor of introducing contraband-drug or liquor into a jail/prison.

Craig N. Doshan, 30, Baxter, was sentenced by Ten Eyck to one year in county jail, with sentence stayed for three years, for gross misdemeanor DWI.

Amanda J. Sickler, 27, Fergus Falls, was sentenced by Ten Eyck to 90 days in county jail, with sentence stayed for two years, for misdemeanor DWI.

Jamie L. Coon, 36, Deerwood, was sentenced by Ten Eyck to one year in county jail, with sentence stayed for three years, for gross misdemeanor DWI.

Anthony W. Carter, 43, Merrifield, was sentenced by Ten Eyck to one year in county jail, with sentence stayed for three years, for gross misdemeanor DWI.

Curtis C. Cooley, 26, Brainerd, was sentenced by Ten Eyck to one year in county jail, with sentence stayed for two years, for gross misdemeanor domestic assault.

Hope M. Strey, 40, Brainerd, was sentenced by Ten Eyck to 45 days in county jail for violating the conditions of her release on a fifth-degree drug possession charge.

Daniel Barrie, 51, Brainerd was sentenced by Ten Eyck to one year in county jail, with sentence stayed for two years, for gross misdemeanor of issuing a bad check.

Adam H. Scott, 33, Brainerd, was sentenced by Ten Eyck to 90 days in county jail, with sentence stayed for two years, for misdemeanor DWI.

Raymond L. Ellis, 27, Brainerd, was sentenced by Ten Eyck to 21 months in the St. Cloud prison for felony domestic assault.

Editor’s note: In court terms, when a person is sentenced and given a time that is “stayed,” it means that if the person violates the terms of their probation, that they may have to serve the original jail/prison sentence that the judge imposed.
