Free computer classes at Brainerd Library

The Brainerd Public Library will offer free basic computer classes in April.

The classes are for people new to computers, ones who haven’t used them for a while or for ones who just need a refresher course.

Computer classes will be taught by Rob Norgon, a retired business education instructor, who has 42 years of training experience. He has varied training experiences from the high school computer lab to adult computer education through Brainerd and Pequot Lakes Community Education programs.

In addition to a master’s degree in business education he has earned certification as a Microsoft Office 2003-2007 Specialist Master Instructor, a Microsoft Certified Trainer and a Microsoft Applications Specialist.

The classes will be held:

Email Basics, 10 a.m. to noon, April 1 and April 21

Internet Basics, 1-3 p.m., April 1 and April 24

Computer Basics, 1-3 p.m., April 10 and April 21 and 10 a.m. to noon April 17

Intro to Excel, 4-6 p.m., April 10

Intro to Windows 8, 10 a.m. to noon April 11 and 1-3 p.m. April 15 and 29

Intermediate Excel, 1-3 p.m. April 11 and 10 a.m. to noon April 29

Intro to Word, 10 a.m. to noon April 15

Intro to Google Drive, 1-3 p.m. April 17 and 10 a.m. to noon April 24

There is limited seating and people should call 829-5574 to register.
