Ruud supports Senate tax bill
Sen. Carrie Ruud, R-Breezy Point, said she supported the tax bill that passed the Senate last week. Among other provisions, she said, it repealed three controversial business to business taxes passed just last year. The warehousing tax, repair/maintenance of business equipment tax, and the telecommunications equipment purchase tax were all met with serious concerns after passage last year.
“I’m happy we were able to repeal these controversial business to business taxes with this bill,” said Ruud. “I’m also happy the bill addresses the multiple Federal Tax Conformity issues Minnesotans have been waiting for answers on. I wish we would have extended the marriage penalty conformity to 2013 which would have provided more the 600,000 Minnesotans with tax relief, but at least this is a step in the right direction.”
