Dairy princess, ambassadors selected

Veronica Nelson was crowned the 2014 Crow Wing County Dairy Princess. Anthony Hettver and Raychel Raddatz were chosen Dairy Ambassadors.

Nelson is the daughter of Ron and Barb Nelson of Brainerd and is employed on Sandy and Jerry Foust’s dairy farm. Hettver is the son of Cheryl and Tony Hettver of Brainerd and Raddatz is the daughter of Lindsey and Melissa Raddatz, also of Brainerd. The Congeniality Award went to Grace Studniski, daughter of Rick and Gretchen Studniski of Fort Ripley.

The Golden Butterknife Award was presented to CherryBerry of Baxter for serving real dairy products and the Milk Pitcher Award went to Dan Caughey for his help in promoting the dairy industry by giving farm tours and bringing a cow to the Culvers’ June Dairy Month cow milking contest.

Dairy Princess Veronica Nelson will go on to compete for one of the 12 Princess Kay finalists to be chosen in May. Those 12 will compete for Princess Kay of the Milky Way and have their likenesses carved in Butter during the Minnesota State Fair.
