Open house for Highway 10 interchange project in Rice scheduled April 3
Area residents, business owners and other interested individuals are invited to an open house on April 3 to learn about 2014 plans for the Highway 10/County Road 2 interchange project in Rice, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) said Wednesday.
The open house is planned from 5–7 p.m. at Rice City Hall, 205 Main St.
Participants will be able to view the project’s layout and design, learn about the schedule and traffic plans, and ask questions directly to MnDOT project staff and local officials.
The $11.3 million project, which began in July 2013, is scheduled to restart in mid-April after being suspended for the winter.
When complete in November 2014, MnDOT said the project will:
• Improve safety and traffic flow by replacing the existing signalized intersection with a full interchange.
• Provide a smoother ride and extend the road life of Highway 10 near the interchange and segments of local roads that are being reconstructed.
• Improve drainage, local utilities and make other improvements.
