Kresha presents financial flexibility school bill
Rep. Ron Kresha, R-Little Falls, recently presented his bill, House File 1937, in the Education Finance committee. This bill, he said, would give local school districts additional flexibility and control of their budgets to help improve education outcomes.
The bill was laid over for consideration in a future omnibus bill.
“I’ve heard from our local school districts repeatedly about the need for additional budget flexibility, the primary reason I authored this legislation,” he said in a news release. “This bill gives school districts another tool to move funding where it is most needed and can have the most significant impact.
He thanked DFL Education Finance Chair Paul Marquart, DFL-Dilworth, for allowing him to present the bill in committee, and to the Minnesota School Board Association for its support of the bill.
