Broadside crash injures two women

Both drivers suffered injuries in a crash about noon Friday on Highway 23 in Mille Lacs County.

Jody Alderink, 50, Milaca, and Janet Cassidy, 45, Foreston, suffered non life-threatening, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.

Alderink was driving a Jeep Liberty south onto Highway 23 when she was struck broadside. The crash was at 125th Avenue. Cassidy, driving a Dodge Caravan, was traveling east on the highway when her vehicle struck Alderink’s passenger side.

Alderink and Cassidy were transported to the hospital in Princeton. Both women were wearing seat belts. Both vehicles were severely damaged.
