Waiting for a Mentor: 9-year-old wants to bike, swim
If I did mentor a child, would it really make a difference? If we asked Levi, a 9-year-old boy who is waiting for a mentor, he would say “yes!” Levi would like to have a family mentor him who likes to play in the park, go bike riding and swimming at the lake. If they have a
dog it would be even better.
Becoming a mentor is exciting. Including a child in your plans is easy and rewarding.
You do not need special skills to mentor a child. It simply means showing up consistently, listening to what they have to say and giving them support and encouragement. So much can be accomplishes by just adding one more kid to the clan.
Is there room for another boy to run around in your yard or to cannon-ball off your dock? Consider being Levi’s mentor.
