The following recently were sentenced in Crow Wing District Court:

John A. Haverkamp, 51, Cloquet, was sentenced by Kristine DeMay to one year in Crow Wing County Jail, with sentence stayed for three years for gross misdemeanor driving while intoxicated (DWI).

Richard D. Allen, 46, Faribault, was sentenced by DeMay to 21 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud for felony financial fraud and 19 months in prison for felony fleeing of a peace officer. The sentences are concurrent and Allen was given credit of 145 days for time already served.

Natalie T. Smith, 24, Garrison, was sentenced by DeMay to 10 years of supervised probation for fifth-degree drug possession. Successful completion of probation will result in a misdemeanor conviction.

Charles F. Gosen, 40, Brainerd, was sentenced by DeMay to 90 days in county jail, with sentence stayed for two years for misdemeanor DWI.

Michael Jeffrey Petersen, 31, Pequot Lakes, was sentenced by DeMay to 90 days in county jail, with sentence stayed for two years for misdemeanor DWI.

Jeffrey A. Schriener, 32, Brainerd, was sentenced by DeMay to 90 days in county jail, with sentence stayed for two years for misdemeanor DWI.

Eric D. Grinde, 19, Backus, was sentenced by Judge Earl E. Maus to 10 years of supervised probation for felony second-degree burglary. Successful completion of probation will result in a misdemeanor conviction.

Editor’s note: In court terms, when a person is sentenced and given a time that is “stayed,” it means that if the person violates the terms of their probation, that they may have to serve the original jail/prison sentence that the judge imposed.
