First Taste of the Cuyuna Lakes to be held

■ Pequot food

drive a success

Greta Seavey found the medallion and collected the prize for the first PTM Medallion Hunt at Pequot Tool and Manufacturing in Jenkins.

The medallion hunt was one of numerous activities held at Pequot Tool in March for the Lakes Area Food Shelf.

All proceeds from the four-week drive went to benefit the Lakes Area Food Shelf, which supports the communities of Jenkins, Pequot Lakes, Breezy Point, Ideal Township and Nisswa.

The goal was to raise more than the $3,188 raised during last year’s food drive. This year’s events raised $4,149 and the company contributed to reach a $5,000 contribution to the Lakes Area Food Shelf.

In addition, non-perishable food items were collected in March for the food shelf.

■ First Taste of the Cuyuna Lakes to be held

The Kinship Partners Crosby office will host its own “Taste of the Cuyuna Lakes” on May 2 at Ruttger’s Bay Lake Lodge to recognize and celebrate the restaurants and chef’s from the Cuyuna Lakes area.

For 25 years Kinship Partners’ most successful fundraiser has been its November Taste of the Lakes event held at Grand View Lodge.

At Taste of the Cuyuna Lakes, the premier chefs will provide an evening of gourmet tastes, and there will be samples of wine and beer. All proceeds benefit the Crosby area Kinship Partners youth mentoring program.

Tickets are $50 and must be purchased in advance by calling the Crosby Kinship office at 218-545-8002 or email at
