Little Falls bureau recognized for being bike-friendly

On Earth Day (Tuesday, the League of American Bicyclists recognized the Little Falls Convention and Visitors Bureau with a Bronze Bicycle Friendly Business (BFB) award.

With the announcement of 80 new and renewing BFBs today in 29 states and Washington, D.C., the Little Falls bureau joins a group of more than 650 local businesses, government agencies and Fortune 500 companies across the United States.

Last year the visitors bureau played a key role in a helmet giveaway for children, initiated the design and installation of artistic bike racks in Morrison County and organized a successful Traffic Skills 101 class. The bureau encourages everyone in the community to use bicycling as an easy option for transportation and recreation.

“The Little Falls area is a great place to ride your bike,” says Jen Lasar of the Little Falls Convention and Visitors Bureau. “Why not make your daily commute part of your exercise routine?”

Moving forward, the Little Falls bureau will have access to a variety of free tools and technical assistance from the league to become even more bicycle-friendly.
