Miss Minnesota performs at Minnesota House
Rebecca Yeh, Miss Minnesota 2013, on Tuesday performed at the Minnesota House of Representatives. Yeh, a Nisswa native and fourth runner-up for Miss America, was introduced by Rep. John Ward, DFL – Baxter, and performed “America the Beautiful” and “God Bless America” on the violin.
“It was an absolute honor to recognize Rebecca and have her visit the Minnesota House of Representatives,” Ward said. “Rebecca is an incredible role model and a sign that with young people like her, our future is bright.”
Yeh said she was honored to be invited to the House by Ward.
“Rep. Ward’s support has been tremendous and since middle school I’ve noticed his passion and hard work for our community,” she said.
Yeh is currently attending Ohio Northern University and has completed her second year of its six-year post-high school doctorate of pharmacy program. She is an active volunteer noted for her work with Austim Speaks, an autism advocacy organization that sponsors autism research and conducts awareness and outreach activities aimed at families, governments, and the public.
