Faith Project builds sanitation system in Haiti

Local nonprofit The Faith Project worked with leadership in Garde Saline, Haiti to design and build a sanitation system that will help reduce disease and deaths caused by poor sanitation.

The project was funded through a grant from the SG Foundation and many supporters from the Brainerd lakes area

The Faith Project mission is to help Haitians build sustainable communities in the name of Christ. Volunteers began working in the village in 2011, conducting a census to help assess the strengths and needs of the community. The village elected a leadership council to use the data to develop a sustainability plan that will focus on nine areas of development: leadership development, clean water, food, sanitation, health care, education, business development, transportation and housing.
