Minnesota’s 8th District U.S. Rep. Rick Nolan, D-Minn. announced Tuesday a series of women’s economic forums to focus on women entering or re-entering the work force, or starting their own business.
A forum is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 14 at Central Lakes College in Brainerd.
The forums will feature a panel of working women, women business owners, and community leaders, including the Congressman’s wife, Realtor and broker Mary Nolan.
Panelists at the Brainerd forum include: Meg Thoreson, director of the Entrepreneur’s Fund’s Women’s Business Center, and Minnesota House Rep. Carly Melin-DFL-Hibbing (invited).
The title of the Brainerd forum is: “When Women Succeed, America Succeeds.”
The Brainerd forum is in addition to three other forums held in May and June in Chisago City, Duluth and Hibbing.
Forums are hosted in conjunction with the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, the Minnesota Department of Human Services, the U.S. Small Business Administration and local chambers of commerce.
