Vehicle and oven fires

The Brainerd Fire Department responded to two calls Thursday morning. The first call was at 7:31 a.m. to a vehicle fire on 12th Avenue and L Street in northeast Brainerd. Firefighters extinguished the fire and cleared at 8:28 a.m. It was reported that the fire appeared to have been started accidentally.

At 10:25 a.m., firefighters were called to a residence on the 5700 block of Luverne Circle in Baxter. It was reported that the homeowner had her oven on in the clean mode and left the house. A neighbor saw the house fill with smoke and called 911. Firefighters arrived on scene and ventilated the home. They cleared at 10:48 a.m.
