A. Brainerd was one of 120 Minnesota Schools to have been selected to participate in the 2014-15 School Breakfast Challenge. Receiving $2,500 in unrestricted funds to invest in increasing school breakfast participation in addition to a $0.25 incentive per meal served to free and reduced price eligible children over the number served the prior school year, up to 25,000 meals.

B. Congratulations to T.J. Graves - Minnesota FFA Star in AgriBuisness

C. Brainerd will be receiving a $3,000 grant from Seon’s Anti-bullying Grant.

D. Representative John Ward received the Legislator of the Year award from the Central Minnesota School Counselors’ Association.

Alison Medeck from Forestview Middle School was selected as the Middle School Counselor of the Year. Alison won this award as a result of her dedication, her love of her students, and her passion for her job.

Forestview Middle School Assistant Principal Tammy Dewey received the Administrator of the Year Award. Tammy has shown strong support for our school counselors and is doing excellent work at Forestview.
