Upcoming blood donation opportunities
■ Brainerd library to open one hour late May 19-24
Due to budget cuts, the Brainerd Public Library will be opening one hour late, at 10 a.m., during the week of May 19-24. Regular library hours are Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

■ Rental Property
Owners and Managers meeting planned
The Rental Property Owners and Managers meeting is planned at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Brainerd Police Station training/meeting room.
Speakers from 1-1:45 p.m. will be Rick Fargo, Progressive Property Management, Inc.; Ketty Green and Julie Schueller, Central Minnesota Housing Partnership; Shannon Fortune, Debbie Peterson and Brandon Peterson, D.W. Jones Management. Open forum will be from 1:45-2 p.m.
■ Upcoming blood
For those interested in donating blood, the following opportunities are available: From noon to 6 p.m., May 21, Emily City Hall, 39811 State Highway 6, Emily; from noon to 6 p.m., May 22, Motley United Methodist Church, 847 South Third Ave., Motley; and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., May 28, Brainerd VFW No. 1647, 309 S. Sixth St., Brainerd.

All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental consent in some states), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
