Sertoma presents awards
Sertoma recently presented its annual awards, with Mark Korte named Sertoman of the Year and Christina Landree and Bill Goers being presented with the prestigious Sertoma Works Awards.
Korte has been a member of Sertoma since February of 1997. When Korte was president, he initiated the Executive Committee that meets the week prior to the regular board meeting to discuss and present information to the board. Korte’s strong characteristics are his ability to listen and look for guidance from all members of the club, a Sertoma news release said, and he willing to make a decision on the matter at hand. Korte also is an active member in Sertoma clubs for fundraising activities.
Korte also is a board member for the Confidence Learning Center, a nonprofit camp for mentally and physically handicapped individuals and the Baxter Business Council, where he is in his second year as the president.
Goers joined the club in August of 2005. He was club president in 2011-2012 and chairman the following year. Goers was honored for his tireless work on Winter Wonderland, as a co-chair.
Landree joined our club in April of 2010. “She is a member who jumps into the job to get it done,” a Sertoma news release said. For last year’s Winter Wonderland she took the leadership position by organizing, setting up dates and getting people involved. She spent numerous hours on the opening activities.
Landree is the second vice president of the Executive Committee. She has attended regional and international Sertoma conventions, bringing back ideas and furthering her educating herself.
