Mental Health Awareness seminar scheduled Monday

■ Master gardeners’

cookbook released

“The Gardener’s Table,” a cookbook compiled by the University of Minnesota Extension Crow Wing County Master Gardeners, is now available.

Master gardeners compiled their favorite recipes and there are a total of 250 recipes, encouraging growing and using of local produce. Recipes such as Kale Chips, Zucchini Bisque, Spicy Beet Compote, French Sorrel Soup, Marinated Tomatoes, Summer Radish Salad and Rhubarb Gingered Jam.

The cookbook also includes information about growing and using herbs, as well as edible flowers. Over 50 gardening tips also are included.

A limited number of cookbooks will be available at the Crow Wing County Extension office through May 28. Cookbooks are $10. Funds raised with will enable master gardeners to provide grants, scholarships and educational opportunities to the individuals who they serve through various projects.

■ Mental Health Awareness

seminar scheduled Monday

Crow Wing County Local Advisory Council on Mental Health is hosting a Mental Health Awareness seminar from 12:30-3:30 p.m. Monday in meeting rooms one and two in the Crow Wing County Land Services Building on Laurel Street in Brainerd.

The seminar is free and is held in May in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month.

This event is to raise awareness of services, providers and resources in Crow Wing County. A short educational program, a resource fair, sharing information and table talk with mental health providers.
