Vehicle up in flames

NISSWA — A vehicle was fully engulfed in flames and smoke Thursday night when Nisswa firefighters arrived on scene, along Highway 371, just south of Nisswa.

Nisswa Fire Chief Richard Geike said the woman driver pulled her car over when another motorist told her it was on fire. The vehicle’s brakes were not working and she had to use her emergency brake to stop. The cause is not known. The car was a total loss.

About 10 firefighters responded to the fire reported at 6:44 p.m.
