Morrison County participates in Law Enforcement Memorial Week
The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office recently participated in Law Enforcement Memorial Week on the grounds of the state capital.
On May 14, Sergeants Shawn Larsen and Jason Worlie represented the sheriff’s office in a wreath laying ceremony for all law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. Morrison County Sheriff John Stack and Chief Deputy Andrew Herlitz were killed in the line of duty in October 1965. Two of Stack’s daughters, Kathy Stack Dwyer and Jean Stack, were present as well to participate in wreath laying ceremonies for their father and Herlitz.
According to Sheriff Michel Wetzel, “It is imperative that we recognize and never forget the sacrifices made by Sheriff Stack and Chief Deputy Herlitz, along with the sacrifices made each day by those who are sworn to protect.”
