BEMIDJI - A Northome woman was killed Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle accident at U.S. Highway 71 and Anne Street in Bemidji.

The accident was reported around 10:45 a.m. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 1998 Buick LeSabre driven by Karen O'Laughlin, 71, of Northome, was eastbound on Anne Street Northwest when it was struck by a 1986 International truck driven by Cory Honer, 46, of Laporte, who was traveling north on U.S. Highway 71.

A passenger in the LeSabre, Loretta Willard, 80, of Northome, was taken to Sanford Bemidji Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, the patrol said in a news release.

O'Laughlin also was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Honer suffered no apparent injuries, the patrol said. All three were wearing their seatbelts.
