Fire calls: Busy weekend for Brainerd firefighters

Firefighters were called on report of smoke in a building at 4 p.m. Friday at the 500 block of Eighth Avenue Northeast. The cause was unfounded.

There was a report of a gas smell at 9:49 a.m. Saturday at the 19000 block Love Lake Road. The cause was unfounded.

There was a report of a grass fire on See Gull Road at 6:25 p.m. Saturday. The owner had a controlled burn permit.

A couple of garbage cans were lit on fire between the 1300 block of Oak and Pine streets at 4:13 a.m. Sunday. Firefighters extinguished them and the matter was referred to the police.

A vehicle fire was reported at 6 a.m. Sunday at the 700 block N. Ninth Street.
