Waiting for a Mentor: Boy wants to learn about mechanics
Have you ever waited for someone? Did you feel the tension in your gut, the anxiousness and shaky hope that you wouldn’t be let down? If so, did you wait for more than a month? More than a year?
Patrick, a 7-year-old from Brainerd, has been waiting for a mentor for over a year and a half.
Are you wondering how this can be?
Well, it’s certainly not because of Patrick. He is a somewhat shy but active kid who likes school and does well in his classes. He would like to be a mechanic when he grows up and to learn about motorcycles and monster-trucks. There aren’t any pets at home, but he likes to be around them. His all-time favorite food is strawberries.
Do you like camping, swimming, fishing and auto-racing? Would you be willing to play board games, go to a baseball game or try model building?
These are Patrick’s dreams and he is waiting for you. Consider being his mentor and bring an end to his long wait.
