Seasonal load restrictions end this week for North-Central Frost Zone

Spring weight restrictions for the North-Central Frost Zone — north of Highway 210 and Highway 18 in Crow Wing County — expire on Friday at 12:01 a.m.

Several roads within this zone will remain posted with a 5-ton weight limit. These roads are: County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 36 (east of Highway 6 to the Aitkin County Line), County Road 105, (north of CSAH 11 to CSAH 36), 106, 111, 128, 141, 149 Spruce Grove Rd and Burgstaler Road.

Spring weight restrictions for the Central Zone (south of Highway 210 and Highway 18 in Crow Wing County) expired May 23.

Minnesota statute establishes weight restrictions. The weight on any single axle shall not exceed 5 tons on any unpaved street or highway; or 10 tons on a paved street or highway unless posted otherwise between the dates set by the commissioner of transportation.

Cooperation and compliance with the legal posted limits is needed to minimize unnecessary damage to our roads.

Information regarding restrictions in Crow Wing County is available at the Highway Department office or on the website: http://crowwing.us/index.aspx?nid=156 .

For more information regarding state-wide seasonal load limit restrictions, check the Minnesota Department of Transportation website: http://www.mrr.dot.state.mn.us/research/seasonal_load_limits/sllindex.asp.
