St. Cloud man still in critical after helicopter crashes

The 71-year-old man, who was seriously injured Wednesday, when a helicopter he was piloting crashed into a Ripley Township barn, north of Little Falls, continued to be listed in critical condition Thursday.

Gary Earl Oleen, of St. Cloud, was flying the crop dusting helicopter at 10:18 a.m. Wednesday when he crashed onto the roof of a barn located just off Haven Road, north of 233rd Street, according to the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office.

Oleen, who was hired by the owner of the farm to spray the fields, was airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital, where he is continuing treatment.
