Introduction to Monday Motivator
The Brainerd lakes area is a region blessed with natural beauty and an abundance of opportunities to be physically active. Yet those who live and work here can be hard-pressed to take advantage of all that potential with time dedicated to jobs and the basics of keeping a household running.
Living healthier lives often tops the list of things people want to do, but stressed for time the easiest, fastest choice is often not the healthiest. Let's face it, it can be downright difficult to make the healthy choice, but the short- and long-term benefits to quality of life in doing so are undeniable.
Crow Wing Energized, the grassroots community effort for better health and wellness, is focused on a health movement with evidence-based results to do more than just talk about health. The goal is to provide actual helpful steps to improving the wellness and lives of those throughout the community. Crow Wing Energized wants to make health choices essential and to make the healthy choice, the easy choice. And it's not the only grassroots effort focused on health. There is a rising tide in area counties to put health and fitness as a priority.
To assist in this endeavor, this new Monday Motivator segment of the Dispatch aims to assist in the effort by raising awareness of health concerns in the community, providing fitness and health tips, looking at ways to relieve stress, showcasing activities and opportunities in the area - all on the journey for a healthier life.
