Food shelf seeking more volunteers
The Salvation Army Food Shelf in Brainerd announced it now offers "choice shopping" to participants, a change requiring additional volunteers.
"Choice shopping" offers the opportunity to shop very similarly to grocery store shopping. Recent surveys indicate that participants are pleased with the current changes, a Salvation Army news release stated.
"Our volunteers are special individuals," the news release stated. "They love volunteering, believe in the mission of the Salvation Army, have smiles on their faces and most of all, have the participants' best interest at heart. Now they have the opportunity to work one-on-one by assisting them with the new choice shopping.
"If you like to smile, have a sense of humor, like helping others and can spare a day, please come join us."
Those interested in volunteering may call 218-829-1120 and ask for Linda.
