Haunted trail features new levels of spooky

The 14th annual Haunted Trail at the Northland Arboretum will feature trails for those who want to get the willies, but not scared out of their socks.

New this year, a revised trail will feature "low scare" and "high scare" areas. Those with lower "scare tolerances" are advised to stay on the main trail, while thrill seekers take shortcuts through the woods, just like in the scary movies.

The trail ends with hot cider for all. Young children must be accompanied by an adult.

The Haunted Trail is open 7-9 p.m. Oct. 20-21 at the Northland Arboretum, 14250 Conservation Drive. Parking is located in the lower lot as well as on the field arboretum grounds. A news release asked those attending to follow the parking attendant's directions.

The Haunted Trail is $7 per person. Tickets are for sale 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday in the visitor center, as well as from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on weekends.
