Salvation Army fundraising campaign playing catch-up
The Salvation Army's local Christmas fundraising efforts have fallen behind, .
As of Wednesday, the Brainerd Lakes Salvation Army had raised $39,768.56 in Christmastime donations—$150,000 short of its overall Christmas fundraising goal of $190,000.
"We are humbly asking for the community's help to get us back on track," said Grant Holloway, leader of the Brainerd Lakes Salvation Army, in a news release. "Every dollar truly helps us serve our community each and every single day."
The Brainerd Lakes Salvation Army uses Christmastime donations to fund year-round programs that provide food, clothing, housing assistance, and other critical services for the Brainerd Lakes residents in need.
There are many easy ways support the Brainerd Lakes Salvation Army this Christmas season:
• Become a volunteer bell ringer. You'll raise an average of $30 per hour. Sign up for a shift at SalvationArmyNorth.org.
• Give at a kettle. There are 11 kettle locations in the area, including Cub Foods, Super One, Walgreens, Walmart, Big Lots, Westgate Mall, Schaefers Foods, SuperValu, Mills Fleet Farm.
• Donate via credit card at SalvationArmyNorth.org or by calling 800-SAL-ARMY. Your gift will be allocated to the Salvation Army location nearest to your billing ZIP code.
