Volunteers sought for pollinator park planting
BAXTER—Volunteers are sought for pollinator garden planting event Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Loren Thompson Park in Baxter.
The Pollinator Garden at Loren Thompson Park is ready for plants. Crow Wing Power partnered with the city of Baxter and master gardener Ken Lueken for the past three years to develop an educational pollinator garden for area residents.
There are about 350 plants ready to be planted, but help is needed to do the planting. Volunteers interested in helping should go to Crow Wing Power's Facebook page to indicate if they are able to help by clicking "Going" on the event. Tools will be provided, but volunteers are encouraged to bring gloves, knee pads or cushions.
The activity will go from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the park, 13015 Kingwood Drive S.
An approximate volunteer count is needed to provide enough tools and a light lunch.
