Drug agents arrest 6 in drug bust
Six Brainerd suspects were arrested Thursday after the Lakes Area Drug Investigative Division agents executed a search warrant at a house on the 700 block of Ninth Ave. NE, Brainerd.
The warrant was in connection with an ongoing drug investigation, the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office reported. As a result of the warrant, several items of methamphetamine-related paraphernalia were seized along with a felony amount of meth.
Arrested as a result of this investigation were a 42-year-old man, two 38-year-old women, a 52-year-old man, a 28-year-old woman and a 49-year-old man. All the arrested suspects have an extensive history of law enforcement contacts, including multiple arrests for property and drug crimes, the sheriff's office reported. With the exception of the 52-year-old man, who has multiple convictions for drug crimes, all of the suspects are currently on probation.
"To deal with these individuals time and time again, is frustrating for our drug agents," Sheriff Todd Dahl stated in a news release. "It just shows the powerful grip that meth can have on people and that it is extremely difficult to break away from the meth lifestyle."
LADID was assisted by Brainerd and Baxter police departments.
