Four arrested for Pine River crime spree

WALKER - Four men have been arrested in connection with a series of thefts and burglaries in the Pine River area, the Cass County Sheriff's Department reported Saturday.

The four man are Travis Johnson, 34, Pine River; Justin Knapp, 25, Backus; William Pendzimas, 53, Walker; and Chad Nelson, 29, Jenkins.

The sheriff's department reported Johnson was charged with four counts of burglary, one count of felon in possession of a firearm and one count of fifth-degree controlled substance crime.

Knapp has been charged with four counts of burglary, one count of felon in possession of a firearm, one count of theft of a firearm and one count of theft of a motor vehicle.

Pendzimas is being held in the Cass County Jail for probation violation with additional criminal charges pending. Formal criminal charges also are pending against Nelson.

Cass County Sheriff's Sgt. Jason Brogle reported stolen property, including several firearms, two ATVs, a chainsaw, an ice auger and other miscellaneous power tools were recovered during the investigation.
