Hackensack man charged with sexual assault of teenage girl
A Hackensack man was charged Friday with criminal sex conduct in the first degree.
Arthur Austin-Ellis Evans, 35, was charged with the offense, which occurred about Feb. 9-10 in Cass County, Christopher Strandlie, Cass County attorney reported.
The criminal complaint alleges Evans sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl after injecting her with sleeping drugs he stole from his employer. In a recorded, post-Miranda rights statement to Cass County Investigator Robert Stein on Feb. 10, Evans admitted he drugged and sexually assaulted the girl, Cass County reported. The victim is a relative.
In addition, Cass County reported Evans stated he had in the past inappropriately touched many other young girls and has photos/videos of some of the incidents.
Strandlie reported the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed.
Evans remains in custody on bail/bond, which was set at his initial court appearance Friday. Evans is being held at the Crow Wing County Jail in Brainerd. The bail/bond was set at $250,000 without conditions or $200,000 with numerous conditions, including no contact with minors, no to use or access pornography, and not to use or access the Internet without prior court approval.
The next court appearance for Evans is March 21.
