Staples police

SHOOTING COMPLAINT — At 1:20 p.m. on Feb. 15 Brian Winger, 600 block of Third Street Northeast, reported someone shot his dog. The 7-year-old Chihuahua had gotten out of the house. Anyone with information is asked to call the police department at (800) 794-5733. 

PROPERTY DAMAGE — Janet Kiley on Saturday reported damage to a box at the Landmark Inn, 631 Third Ave. N.E.

On Wednesday officers received a report of a street sign found on the ground that had been removed from Third Street Southwest and Minnesota Avenue Southwest. Other signs in the area also were found to be missing. 

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — At 3:39 p.m. on Feb. 14 an officer responded to First International Bank, 111 Fourth St. N.E., for a report of a party who had been in the bank and had been disorderly. An officer met with the party the following day and advised him to act appropriately while in the business.

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY — At 2:31 p.m. Saturday deputies received a report of five large round hay bales on fire along Todd County Road 39. The lost hay was valued at $150 and the incident is under investigation.
